The Room

The current form of the RC is in the corner of a first-level living room.

Operation

We're still working out details on how we will operate the layout, but early ideas have divided the trains into three categories, all related:

Switching - this assignment is to switch out the many industries along the RC and also set out cars to interchange with other railroads.

Locals - primary mission is to collect and set out cars and take them to the main RC yard for through freight operation.

Through-trains - takes all cars set out in yards to bring them to other yards to connect with other railroads.

Construction

Most of the construction on the layout was done by the original owner and is complete. We are in the midst of adding our personal touches to it, however.

Lighting

While the layout does not have fixed lighting, per se, it is next to a large window and gets a lot of natural light. This makes quality photography possible.
